Help the Homeless

Help the Homeless is supported by the Randal Charitable Foundation

Help the Homeless has a mission to completely eradicate homelessness and rough sleeping in the city of Leicester.

The charity and its supporters believe their services can change and transform multiple lives for the better, and at the heart of their vision are the 3 Es: Enrich, Encourage and Empower.

Their in-depth work with service users and other organisations highlights where there are service gaps, and how through collaboration, these can be bridged.

In 2019 the Randal Charitable Foundation awarded a grant to Help the Homeless to fund bed and breakfast accommodation to enable vulnerable homeless people to be taken off the street, particularly where their lives and safety were at risk.

The charity tailors its services to the individual needs of the service users. For example each service user has an individual case worker who supports them with activities like applying for benefits, registering for GP services, dentists and even setting up utility bills.

When the service user is ready they can provide support to find suitable employment, volunteering or further education dependent on the individual’s wants and aspirations.
